  14. I suspect there is a simple solution but I cannot find a way to change
  15. the baselineskip in my footnotes. I use 8pt text in footnotes and there
  16. is far too much space between lines for such a font size.

  18. I have tried setting baselineskip by using eplain's \everyfootnote
  19. macro but it seems to have no effect (presumably because the footnotes
  20. are not typeset as paragraphs so that the change in baselineskip never
  21. takes effect).

  23. Is there a simple way to do this, perhaps by altering the \vfootnote
  24. macro?
